After heeding everyone's advice, I still failed at finding studs. I tried to peek behind an electrical outlet on the same wall and wasn't able to see anything. But the outlet itself looked pretty standard. I took a photo of a 1/8'' hole that I put in the wall. This goes about an inch and a half deep. I'm almost positive that the hard stop in the center of the hold is the exterior brick of the building. The exterior wall is about over a foot deep. Again, this building is probably close to 100 years old, if not older given the age of the neighborhood. So I have a few questions:Those pencil marks were indicated by my stud sensor as being "on center", any idea what they would have been picking up?There looks to be a small, darker layer between the sheet rock and the brick, any idea what this is?If this wall thickness is the same everywhere, how the heck did they install the wall outlet?Any tips for trying to anchor something to a wall like this? Thanks everyone.https://ift.tt/2P5VwGR via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2KRkfLy
