My wife and I have been looking for ways to cut back on the time we spend doing household tasks, and in the process saved some money as well.

Before the month of July we would meticulously sort out laundry and do between 6 and 10 loads per week. some were smaller, some were larger, but it was still a lot of time and energy spent doing a task we both hate.

So at the start of July we went through our clothes and got rid of anything we had that couldn't be washed on cold and dried on the gentle cycle of the dryer. We're now down to 2-3 large loads of laundry per week! Which saves us a lot of time, but it also turns out it saves us some money.

We made no other changes to our routine for the month and saved 4$ on our utility bill. I know that isn't a ton, but 4 bucks here and there adds up! Plus we added a little more time to every day that we aren't worried about laundry.
