My loyal Kipling backpack is very slowly disintegrating after nearly two decades worth of use and needs a replacement. I've looked into finding a similar one, but my research so far has shown that Kipling doesn't sell this type of bag anymore, and anything comparable has the structure/trolley thing going that I absolutely do not want.

My wish list:

  • Available in Europe (I'm based in Germany)
  • Very durable (I'm a tabletop RPG gamer, so laptop, lots of big heavy books, miniatures, sixpacks, snacks, etc get carried around regularly)
  • Should still be able to be passed off as cabin luggage (even if it's technically not, just needs to be close enough)
  • Absolutely no metal structure/rolling trolley type construction (I want a backpack plain and simple without that added weight)
  • Plenty additional compartments (I'm very fond of the large side compartments in my current one, they'll easily hold a 1.5L bottle each, and all my gaming gear needs organizing)
  • Ideally sub-€200 (obviously, the cheaper the better, but if it stands a good chance of matching up to the 20 years my last pack lasted, I'll gladly pay this or even a bit more)

I'd love to hear any advice you might have!
