During my senior year of high school, or the summer leading to it I guess, my parents split and filed for divorce. My mother was/not sure if still on drugs and didn’t have much money but my father on the other hand is clean and has a decent paying job. After they split my father filed me as a dependent so when it came time to financial aid he made enough for me not qualify for financial but didn’t make enough to actually pay for my schooling ($8k per semester at a local D2 university). I was wondering if I could get my mom to switch as a dependent on her taxes this next year because she doesn’t make very much money (actually don’t even know exactly where she works anymore).
