Wow. I graduated with my Masters degree back in May of 2008. It took 10 years but I paid back all 80k plus the interest!
Being super frugal was the key! I have no tv, no couch, not much of anything extra I don’t need.
I didn’t buy anything unless I had the cash for it. 10 years later- no loans!!! Feels amazing.
For those who think paying 80k of debt plus interest in 10 years isn’t possible..... while making about 40k a year.... it is. I am living proof.
I also persevered and saved monthly- for long term savings, retirement, emergency fund, investments and and to make a final payment when the debt amount equaled the savings amount!
When my “Paid in Full” letter comes. It will be framed!
