Don't know if this is really the right sub for this post, I just want to talk to like minded people about a little pickle I'm in.
I'm in college, just moved into a new place, a basement studio apartment in the city that I adore. Just started to move in and realized that my place has ZERO bars whatsoever. Nada. No cell signal.
Me being a fellow that lives very simply and has valued this lifestyle for many years now, I didn't find almost any problem with this. I was focused on unpacking and cleaning, undisturbed, and unable to waste my time on YouTube or lovely reddit or anything Internet connected
Also, let me add that being in a city I am always within a 15 second walk from wifi and cell service.
I haven't truly lived here yet, only making trips to move in and will officially live there in Sept. So theorically it could work but I don't know the extent of how annoying this might become. What I do know is that cell booster antennas go for around $300 and that seems obscene just for the convenience of having it in the apartment.
Has anyone lived like this? No wifi no cellular?
Honestly I like the idea of having the home be a disconnected place for creating art, cooking, sleeping, reading, and escape, and the city being the place where I can sit in cafe or college library and work, research, connect with people, etc.
What are the pros and cons of this?
