So I recently quit my old job and got a new one, but my dumb ass forgot to move over the payment for direct deposit. I fell behind on payments and ended up with $500 late fees, which I failed to pay in time because life got in the way. So my car got repossessed, the loan provider wants me to pay it all in full, the whole $7000 left. I’m taking the loss, I don’t have $7000 nor the credit to get a loan from elsewhere. But I’m in an even worse situation, I had a bunch of stuff in my car, work clothes, some cash, documents, and my fucking Nintendo switch. I called the car lot about my stuff and they demanded $70 plus a $10 fee for every single day my car has been there. I make very little money, less than I used to, and I don’t have the $140 they want from me. I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to lose all my stuff, it’s being held ransom and I’m sure it must be illegal. What can I do to protect myself and get my possessions back.
