I live in a rental apartment unit (built in 2006) and would like to mount my 55" TV on the wall. I know there are know wooden studs available and the occasional stud that I can find is metal. I am thinking of using toggle mounts to do this, but I might have to use drywall only to put it up. Based on what I've found in other areas of my apartment, I think the drywall should be about 1" think. The weight of the TV and the mount combined is just under 40 lbs.My questions are:- Is it safe? I have a toddler running around my apartment. The TV and cables will be out of reach but is there a chance the TV could spontaneously fall down off the wall.- For anyone that doesn't feel comfortable with drywall only TV mounting, why do you feel that way? What is your experience that led to that opinion?-Is there a safer way to mount the TV? Or are there any redundancies while mounting I can implement to give myself some peace of mind?Thank you in advance for any advice!PS. I am a relatively handy and DIY sort of person so I'm hoping to find a solution that I can take care of myself. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2AWiTQ9
