Hi all,
I am making a 1000 mile move and have been investigating the various ways to move my stuff, and can't come up with a good plan. I have a 1-br apartment amount of stuff. There are some antique pieces of furniture from my grandparents that I want to keep. (6 items)
As far as other items: couch, coffee table, end tables, lamps, dressers, TV stand... I could totally sell mine and buy others once I get to my destination. But they're free to me now (and actually, about half of those things were given to me free anyway)! So i hate the idea of spending money on things when I'm probably not going to get much at all from craigslist on what I have now.
Traditional movers- forget that option. Too expensive. Looking at Uhaul Ubox - would maybe fit my stuff in 1 box if I sell some of the stuff mentioned above. Traditional uhaul would be pricey as I'd have to pay a friend to drive it and then fly that friend back home.
Bottom line is, what is my best frugal option when I definitely want to keep SOME stuff (therefore can't just put it all in my car), but also don't want to sell the stuff I have for less than it's worth and then have less cash to buy new furniture there.
Thank you
