I was at Saks yesterday and tried on a pair of these Chanel boots, and absolutely loved them! I've never been one to spend more than $150 on a pair of shoes, but I have been looking for a pair of comfortable, short, black boots that have traction, can handle water, and are sleeker/smoother than say, Doc Martens (which I have and really enjoy as well)
This fits all of those criteria. I like that this pair looks and feels like it can be worn enjoyably to a night out, daily, or through the rain. It fit perfectly on my foot and was a dream to walk in. Pretty and functional!
Problem is, this thing is $850 before tax and that's kinda intense. I just find it really hard to justify the cost, primarily because I tend to wear out the heels of my shoes unevenly and I'm afraid I won't be able to get enough life out of these.
The store rep suggested I find a cobbler when it comes to that, and they would be able to tack on a piece of rubber to make up for the slant - but I am concerned about the repair of the heel not looking uniform or "clean" enough. I think that if I could find a cobbler that would do a great job, I'll consider this more. But it's still a really expensive pair of shoes.
Any similar boots to this out there that don't cost so darn much? Or does anyone know of a solid cobbler/shoe repair company? I would say that if these boots were 50% off (that's not gonna happen haha) I would get them, so my budget is around $400 (which is still way above what I normally spend on shoes, but I really like this pair).
