So I am not a chef or baker whatsoever, that is my girlfriend. But I tried my hand at making homemade bread last night and it was a huge success. I found an easy recipe online, and the ingredients were all things we had laying around the kitchen (flour, sugar, salt). The only thing I needed to go out and buy was yeast, which is like one dollar for three packs I believe. I followed the instructions, let it rise for an hour, and baked it! Two hours later, BAM! Two huge loafs of soft fresh bread that smelled awesome and only cost me $1 out of pocket!
And it felt so much cooler to have made it myself. I've been using it for toast in the morning and sandwiches at lunch!
Sharing this because if I can bake bread on my own, I'm sure anyone else can too! Its super cheap and lasts a while.
