Hello,I bought my house last year and at the time of inspection, the inspector told me that I needed to regrade along the front and back of the home to prevent cracks from forming on my sidewalls that would result in foundation damage. In the inspection he recommended that I use a clay based fill dirt for the grading.My question is this the correct type of dirt to use? I haven't been able to find a landscape supplier in the area with clay based fill dirt and the more I read about it the more it sounds like the clays water holding properties would just cause more water to be held along the wall in the winter. Any information would be appreciated. I've been trying to find a contractor to come out and give me an idea of what I would need to do but I haven't had much luck finding one.
