We’re carpenters everyday, but this is our first treehouse. We took on the job for a friend, who insisted on a 30” cantilever over the girders. The girders are double 2X12”X20’s set 28” apart (the width of the trees+bolts).We tried adding cats between the girders every 16”, then the angle collar ties from the beams to the joists. We’re confident it won’t go anywhere when it’s full of toddlers, but it does still wobble.
