I found a little mechanical toy at a thrift store and have become determined to fix it. It was completely dead, but after I used some baking soda to scrub the corrosion from the battery compartment, and put in some new AAAs, it actually twitched, you guys!I opened it up and found a little more blue on the wire connections, but cleaning that up made no change. The wire still looks a little blue but not gunky, and I didn't want to break it off.Turning it on, I can hear a little hum like it's trying to turn gears, but it only moves a tiny tiny bit and stops. Is this what happens with a dying motor? Or can this happen if there's still some corrosion hidden somewhere?I haven't been able to find a good example of similar behavior, online. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2LqvwmJ
