I bought a room divider online recently, and it has quite a lean. (pictures at bottom) Its made out of mango wood and is pretty heavy, so at first I thought this was contributing to the lean. The feet on the outer panels are also different lengths, which I thought could be a safety factor since it's so heavy. Basically it keeps the panels from completely straightening out when it's being moved, so I thought it was intentional to make it less likely to fall over. I emailed the company I got it from and they sent a replacement. The replacement is very different, it does not lean and the feet are longer and more balanced. So the first one is obviously defective, they don't want it back and I don't really want to throw it away either. I tried putting folded up index cards (6!) under the feet to straighten it out, but this has only helped minimally. It makes a lot of cracking noises sometimes, pretty obviously off balanced. The replacement one I got also does this sometimes and doesn't appear off balanced. I'm thinking mango wood might not be the best thing to make something like this out of but here we are.It was not easy to photograph due to the size an placement of it, but the first picture shows the index card setup, the second shows how it leans towards the window, and in the third I'm holding the camera straight with the floor to try and show how much it leans. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Being that it's defective the problem may not even be in how level the feet are. Although they are not as level as they should be, and that's where I think I should start in any case. I was thinking of getting these wobble stopper things from eBay but I'm not sure that would be sufficient for this. https://ift.tt/2P18Onh of the divider https://imgur.com/a/XUgmRumThanks! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2MvDaRX
