Re submission - previous research done explained below. So i have recently moved into a new place and our dog has damaged the landlords cat flap. We want to buy a new one to just put there so there isn't a big hole in our front (wooden) door. The hole dimensions are 18cm wide by 22cm tall. I understand that with catflaps/ dogflaps you get a cutout (hole) dimension and as well as that you get an overall size. The only issue is most cat flaps holes are either quite a bit smaller or bigger than that. Does the new catflap cut out dimensions need to be exactly the same as the current hole in the door?Baring in mind i have no tools to adjust the hole currently there.I have been to a petstore in which they were clueless and looked at multiple manuals which only give the cutout dimension and do not explain if it causes a big issue cutting too big/ small! :) via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2P5vzHs
