This is kind of a weird concept to think about, but I don’t feel stuck in the rat race for material things or Keeping Up with the Joneses. I feel stuck in the rat race for getting to the point where life is just simple.
I don’t desire a fancy car or even a two story in the suburbs. I’ll be fine in a one story or modular home. Plus I’m already building up for the life I want: I have a decent job, live at the beach, I’ll drive my 07 Civic till it shits out, and I’m a heavy budgeter.
It’s almost like I’m wishing time would go by quickly just so I’m out of student loan debt (graduated this past May) rather than appreciating the luxuries I already have now. I don’t go out partying or drinking all the time, don’t spend much for myself besides food. Maybe it’s the job I wish were different, but still would want the same salary/benefits. Anyone got any thoughts on this?
