I came across this tutorial from Curbly showing how to transform a box spring into a platform bed. I haven't been able to find an affordable platform bed that I like and this appeared to be a fitting solution. I still need to gather the materials but my primary concern is if the design will be able to hold the weight of 2 people (combined 350 to 375 lbs).I have been trying to find tapered legs that will be reliable. Home Depot sells these beautiful 7.5 in Waddell legs that I thought were a great fit, until I realized that they are designed for tables. I even considered using 3 on each of the sides and 2 along the middle support beam of the boxspring but I'm still concerned about how long the legs and top plates would last.Essentially I am looking for any tips that will help this DIY endeavor or if anyone has made a similar project/what was the outcome/what would you do differently/if can anyone recommend similar, sturdy tapered legs that can support a bed.
