While completing the pipework for a boiler installation my plumber announced without warning that they would have to cut a couple of largish windows in the back of my kitchen cabinets to provide access to where the pipes needed to be routed (short of dismantling half the worktop and cabinets).I now have two ~250mm rectangular holes in the cream-faced chipboard backs of the cupboards where we keep pots and pans. You barely get to see the panels even with the cupboard open so it is no aesthetic drama, but I'd like to cover the holes to stop the contents snagging/falling through them.A low effort option is to just screw a slightly larger rectangle of material on top, but it would be nice to avoid the sharp exposed edges this would leave for things to snag on, and even for the inside of a cupboard it's a kind of ugly solution. Is there some sort of cover panel usually used for a different job I might be able to repurpose? Or an otherwise more elegant way to do the job? I do have the pieces that were cut out to make the holes, so any semi-flush way of securing/smoothing over the border would do the job too. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2PePGmM
