Note: I have searched through the sub but was still hoping for more advice. Request below is kind of specific but please feel free to recommend other hosiery that falls under the general category of affordable and comfortable.
I don't really know what the difference is between leggings, tights, and pantyhose, but I'm basically looking for
- plain-ish black and/or nude
- footed tights
- in the range of 30-50 denier
- that don't squeeze the life out of my middle section
- and that are ~$5 a pair
I have a pretty gross stomach pooch that I absolutely hate so I used to gravitate towards control top stuff. But then I discovered that my digestive system takes issue with being squeezed even if it doesn't give a shit what I eat so that's out. My current favorite are the No Nonsense No Squeeze Just Ease Yoga Waistband Tights in 70 denier, but frankly it's too thick and therefore hot for me to wear regularly. (I live on the East Coast, where it is both hot and humid. Gross.) I tried the sheer version of those tights (30 denier), but they are much inferior quality and ripped in like two wears. My second favorite are these Hue brand tights I have (40 denier), but those are still a bit uncomfortable in the waist.
Also, I definitely get that it might be a good idea to spring for some more expensive tights/leggings that will last longer, but I am not my ideal weight right now and don't want to spend $$$ on leggings that don't fit when I (hopefully) lose all of this crap weight.
BONUS ROUND: Any suggestions for work pants? Uncomfortable though some tights may be, they are more forgiving than pants, so I'm currently living in dresses. This won't be an option come winter, so suggestions for business casual work pants (for all seasons, really) are also very very welcome. As a general rule I love Banana Republic's clothes (especially because I live near a factory store and they give you student discounts yessss) but idk I think I still have issues with pants courtesy of my ass and the aforementioned stomach pooch.
So, any recommendations? And if you don't mind sharing, I always find height/weight and other such details to be helpful. Ex: I'm 5'5 and 155 lbs. In the No Nonsense I prefer to wear the M/L size and for Hue I wear size 2. I have an ass that you really wouldn't expect on an Asian girl and thus always wear tights/leggings with dresses.
