My bf is fencing in his back yard, and hired a company to put the fence posts in every 8 feet. He was warned that if they had to dig some by hand it would cost more (and it did by about $250). They were supposed to come the night before the scheduled install to go over the plan, and didn't show up. The guy called to apologize, and so my bf gave clear instructions as to where everything would go to his 22 year old daughter who would be home when the posts were being put in (bf had to work that day). Day of the install, daughter texted my bf to verify that the posts were to be 8 feet apart...Yesterday we tried to install the 8 foot panels he bought, only to find that the posts are nowhere near 8 feet apart. Some are 7'1", some are 7'6", etc.Bf called the company, and was told that had he told them up front that he was buying panels they would have had to do it differently. They would have had to install the posts at the same time that he put up the panels and it would have cost him twice as much. While this seems logical, it still seems to me that they could have at least gotten the posts closer to the 8 feet apart he asked for.I think he got ripped off, he says the way the company rep put it, it makes sense. I'd like to hear what other people think. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2nxfDRE
