My wife and I(Canadian citizens) are both beginning careers that allow us to (within reason) live anywhere we like, as we will be flown to and from work on multiple month contracts.

We already own property in Canada but would ideally like to have a second home out of country. We were thinking something more exotic than the US. Maybe something cheap in the Mediterranean(Spain, Greece, Italy).

I would love to start researching how taxation and citizenship works in these various countries. Mainly, will we be charged income tax from both countries, what other taxes will we have to pay, do these countries have stringent citizenship laws or are there ways to live in a country long term without citizenship.

If anyone has knowledge or recommendations on where I can start researching this stuff it would be most helpful.
