I feel the same probably applies to some of you. Why is it that we were happier as a kid or teenager? After some thought, I think the answer is simple. When we were younger we weren't separated by money, politics and religion. We didn't feel crunched for time. We hung out with other people and their presence simply brought us happiness. A day in the life was walking in the woods exploring or playing in the park. Politics, money, and religion were probably nonexistent worries in our life. You liked people for who they were, not what they believed.

At first I thought, man I wish I could go back to then, my life was perfect! I didn't have to go to work every day, I had so much free time! But wait....hold on a minute, what was so different then? I still had a schedule with school. I still had to wake up every morning and go somewhere for 7-8 hours, 5 days a week, so why was I so much happier then? I think we as people complicate our lives more than we need to. We are always worried about "time" but yet we sit on our phones for hours at a time, doing nothing.

Making time isn't an issue. In my opinion saying you don't have time for most things is a poor excuse to throw your hands up in the air and say you give up and don't want to try. Go hangout with that friend that's been trying to see you for the last couple of months. Go to the store and make that meal instead of grabbing fast food for the 4th time this week. Go see your family or call them instead of letting them pester you all the time about seeing/talking to you. We get so caught up in material possessions and false senses of time that we forget the little things that once made us happy.
