We recently have been going through a time when one of our loved ones has a terminal illness and has been given a 5-6 months. This is tough on the family for many reasons. This person lived simply so one surprising thing that I'm noticing is their strong attachment to stuff [not pictures or antique things rather clothes, furniture, household goods etc.]. Every time we try to spend time them or help them with whatever they need help with, it always comes down to help organizing stuff. Even the discussion about moving to a nursing home centered around moving stuff to a storage.
All this has got me thinking on whether others have similar experience where attachment to stuff becomes/remains so strong even during the last days of your life. Also, what are some strategies that people use so they don't get attached to things!!
