Long story short, I made a dumb mistake and bought into the CGC hype at a high without doing my proper research. I'm down about $130 in that particular stock (my entire portfolio is around $6000 when it started) and I was wondering if there were any opinions on just selling the stock now and starting with a smaller amount and just pick better investments with proper research. I know market index funds are probably the smartest thing to do, especially considering I would have a lot of time to let the investment compound, but I would like to take this opportunity to learn more about stocks and investing. I'm hoping I'll learn enough where I can actively manage my own investments in the future (but not trading).
Also, on the same note, if anyone has any tips/advice for learning more about investing (I've already picked up some books on some of the past reddit threads on here), please feel free to let me know. I'm way more familiar with the tech industry (and it's where I plan to work), but ideally I'd want to diversify across multiple industries (especially if I continue investing more). Lastly, any tips to research individual stocks would be greatly appreciated!
