Hello
I am buying a new construction home and one of the vendors for building options offers the beam serenity 375a priced at $3500 installed. This equipment comes with a 10 year warranty. The unit itself is rated up to recommended for spaces up to 8000 Sq ft.
Now I know installation is a large portion of the work involved and new construction is the most ideal time to purchase a central vacuum. I am a bit taken aback by the $3500 price tag and see that the serenity 375a unit retails between $600 and $1000 online. Which makes installation + vendor mark up to be around $1500-$2900. Of course, this is justified given quality installation job.
This option would remain in budget due to a builder credit for options in which whole home cabinetry, hardwood flooring, carpet and pad, counter tops, and such have been selected already. With this, central vacuum, option I am considering the quality of indoor air and supposed ease of vacuuming. Majority of home is hard surface (wood, tile, small area foyer w/ laminate), carpet is only in 3 bedrooms and study/office.
