I just bought a house I really like. It was a foreclosure and winterized. When they turned the water back on, there was a leak from the basement ceiling.Looking up at it, there's a leak that probably won't be too hard to find...once I move the HVAC sheet metal plenums (chases? the sheet metal rectangular 'tubes' the air goes through).I'm reasonably competent with a lot of things in the house, but I've never messed with these before. I don't even know how they fasten together and it's not obvious just by looking on these ones. I don't see screws or slip joints or band fasteners.Any help or advice before I just start pulling at things? I don't think the (water) plumbing part of this will be too hard, once I can get these things out of the way.Oh, and the fun part--it's a slow leak, and it looks like it's filled up the plenum quite a lot. I guess someone walked though the house right after turning the water back on and didn't see anything, because the drip is above a plenum and is leaking onto it. So when you push lightly up on the bottom of the plenum...sploosh. Fun. :-)And lastly, if anyone could correct (or confirm) my vocabulary, I'd appreciate it. I might not be Google searching the right words. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2LdM7ha
