I found this 2001 Jeep Wrangler 2dr 4-cylinder that's currently held 50 miles away from my house. I've been wanting a jeep for some time. It's an impounded car that's being sold through a towing company that sells impounded vehicles.
Upon emailing and asking them if it is still for sale, they replied that they are asking 4500$/offer. They also made note that the car looks very well taken care of and it runs decently, the only flaw being a tear on the driver seat (I don't mind). I checked the license plate that was in the picture that's on display and it ran back to the same Jeep.
My question is: Is it smart to buy from an impounded dealer? Should I offer lower than what they're asking due to no history of ownership/services? I would love to become a jeep owner however, I'm pretty skeptical about buying one off an impound lot. What's your impound car story?
