Hi /r/DIY,Just bought a new to me house for my fiancee and I in Northwest Indiana, the previous owners renovated it and we are noticing some quirks with the electrical wiring.Specifically the living room outlets, and one of the guest bedroom outlets (which shares a wall to the living room), are all controlled by the basement light switch.It seems to me that they wired it in reverse, as I would assume the outlets would receive constant power first then the lightswitch to the basement. Also it seems odd that the basement is on the same circut as the living room.Is there any code related to electrical wiring specially?
