I had one of my teeth filled in late april, and I went to a new dentist that was accepting new patients. I had no dental insurance through my work, so I had to pay out of pocket. This new dentist did free new patient 'comprehensive exams and recommendations'. I was upfront with them from the beginning that I needed to know the total price of everything before I did anything because I had to pay for it personally. They reassured me multiple times it would be 94 dollars and I would have to pay for that before I left today. I agreed after reconfirming it and paid it. Now today I get a bill from them in the mail showing my $94 paid and for the filling, and another charge of $299 for 'Resin Base Comp 3 Surf Post' or from what I can tell from Google it's the tooth colored filling? What are my options? It may not seem like a lot for some but it is for me and I don't have the money for that. Is this normal for dentists to do?
