I’m two days into a disaster of a project. We just got possession of our new home after a disastrous deal. Yay, right? So when we saw the house, we noticed this horrible accent wall in the kitchen. It was a crinkly leathery texture, painted red. Our realtor said he thought this was just a texture that was added with skim coating that could be sanded, or maybe even wallpaper. Which was fine.Cut to us asking the previous owners and they were really proud of their work... which we found out is tissue paper glued to the wall in layers and then painted over.I’ve tried the following along with scraping: steaming, really warm water and fabric softener that was both sponged on, and misted on. I’ve got a decent amount done, but it’s painstaking. Does anyone have experience with this, and could you point me in a different direction? I’ve seen the wallpaper strippers and I thought about Citristrip, which is supposed to be gentle. I’m just afraid of getting it on our beautiful hardwood flooring.***New drywall is not an option! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2LjXODn
