Currently I am spending about 200 a week for one person and still ending up hungry. I can't bring myself to buy artificial foods, and things like pasta, cereal and bread I also try to avoid. I don't mind eating canned beans, rice, and cheaper foods that still are decent for you, but it is hard for me to leave out things that I find to be important like where the product was grown, how it was produced, and the overall quality. How do I reconcile these two things to stay on a budget? That doesn't even include the times when I go off schedule and need cooking oil, a spice or just want to try something new and it seems that even adding something like a pint of blackberries will creep up the total way too quickly. Does anyone have a nutritious but also frugal grocery budget?
