I have a gravel driveway (from 1965) that I just put some 3/4" "crusher" / "traffic bond" on.The gravel has been smoothed out the best I could and I was wondering if it was necessary to compact it with a plate compactor.I had a much smaller amount of gravel put on last year to fill in some pot holes but it all kinda disappeared after winter (plow)I came across some contradicting information online.Some say it's fine to smooth it out then let the rain harden it. Others say to use a plate compactor or roller.What's the best option here?
