Our electric bill over the past three months have grown exponentially. It's gone up in $40 incraments the past couple of months and is getting ridiculous. We have a 900sq ft apartment in Georiga.
We tried the trick of keeping our central air running all day, but keeping the apartment at 77/78°, and today, the bill is higher than last month. We used to turn the air off all day, and then turn it on when we got home, which actually resulted in a cheaper bill.
I don't know what is causing the electric bill to rise. Since my name isn't on the bill, the woman at the electric company couldn't give me any information other than basic advice that I don't think I can trust now.
I'm really trying to save, but with the electric bill being on a steady incline, it's becoming difficult.
What do you guys recommend to keep the electric down?
We unplug the toaster when not in use, I switched my lights to LEDs, and keep the blinds shut during the day. I don't really know what else we can do.
