So I have a 2015 F-150 xlt truck that I would like to try and spray paint the wheels black but when I watch videos on how people do it themselves they all have different ways the prep the wheel and apparently prepping is the most important part . I would like to hear tips and opinions and give me advice to make sure I do a good job. So what I’ve gathered is that I have to obviously take the wheel out, sand it (what kind of sandpaper should I get and what’s the purpose can’t I just spray over it?), clean it to make sure to get rid of dirt and debris, rinse it, dry completely, then start spraying it with black duplicolor say about 3-4 coats? Then after apply the clear coats for better glossy finish. Also, I’m gonna get a jack stand, is there a preference or will any do? If this is the right way then I’m gonna get started, but if it isn’t or I’m missing something I would really appreciate the help I can get. Thanks in advance! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2mu51Cz
