So I did look through a bunch of posts and some of the "look here" posts but my situation seems to be a bit unique so I wanted to make a post. I am moving from rural PA to Oregon here at the end of the month for work.
I don't have a lot of stuff basically some miscellaneous boxes, clothes in boxes, and a TV. I'm not taking any furniture at the moment and am trying to keep what I take to a minimum. I'm estimating maybe 3 "large boxes" 3 "medium boxes" a ~50 inch TV (although it almost seems cheaper to leave it and buy a new one) and golf clubs.
Because of where I live (it's a rundown area like 10 years behind the technology swings) and my situation with vehicles and towing capabilities, U-Box does not seem to an option due to being too far from the U-Haul locations. Pods are not available in my area, and actually renting a u-haul truck and hauling my car is absolute LAST case I want to try.
I looked into UPS Freight and was optimistic with their rate prices but turns out thats only for commercial to commercial and residential to residential rates are JACKED way up.
As of right now I am thinking of having a relative find out what it would cost to ship boxes via UPS with a business account and just stuffing my car with stuff and taking as little as possible.
I am getting / have gotten some moving company quotes but they all seem to be steeper than what I would want to spend for the amount of stuff I have.
Does anyone know of any other potential options I am missing? Obviously am trying to keep the overall price down but I think that was a given.
