We're painting our upstairs (ceiling, trim, walls) and replacing outlets and light fixtures. All lights are going to be LED now. They're either a recessed light replacement or a very thin flush mount (low ceilings).I never thought about caulking the lights, but now I'm thinking about it. When installing some of the lights to test the dimmer and different styles I did notice a decent draft. We're also looking at installing a whole house fan and I read that the rest of the ceiling should be pretty tight.Since these are LED lights and "should" last 10 years, is there any downside to putting a ring of caulk on before installing? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NG0fNR
