I am in the middle of removing all the existing drywall and existing tile from a bathroom. The bathroom has a tub and it had a plastic surround unit around the tub.I am planning to install tile around the tub and I would like to add tile walls (up about 3 feet on all surrounding walls of the bathroom.QUESTION:Can I mix different types of drywall. For example on the surround walls where I am going to add tile, do I need a more sturdy type of drywall like cement board or will the standard be ok?I have also read about wedi or Kerdi boards being used. I plan to go with one of these - But do they offer the same stiffness as a cement board - to make sure the wall has no give or movement?Would it be best to use wedi or kerdi on the entire room? Even outside the shower area? Thanks for any advice and direction. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2z3P1jR
