Hey all, I bought a second hand air compressor off the local for sale pages and to me it worked fine. After using it often I noticed it didn’t have very much power for my air tools and such.I started looking at it more closely and noticed it would continue to run nonstop but stop building pressure around 70-75 PSI. This is a 26 gallon 1.7hp 150 PSI Campbell hausfeld oil less compressor. I figured it would eventually max out at 150 psi and shut off but it never rises more than 70-75. I took the cover off and looked at it closely and didn’t see anything amiss.Checked the wiring and it looks like it wasn’t messed with so the wiring isn’t off. I had it on an extension cord but plugged it directly into the outlet to test that and it did the same thing. Any clues as to what could be the issue? Could it be the pressure switch? The carbon brushes in the motor? I like this compressor and don’t want to cut my losses just yet. Any advice is appreciated. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Jn1NKb
