Big time lurker, but I'd like some advice and anecdotes from y'all.
I'm a big believer in buying refurbished or used electronics (when it makes sense to). I bought my Note 3 used from eBay two years ago (it's still going strong), along with a GPU and a DSLR, all of which are still working great after all these years.
Anyways, my brother is a huge Apple fanboy (I know), and is interested in getting an iPhone 7. New, they're $550+tax, but Apple sells them for $500 refurb, and I just found another listing from Best Buy down to $410. So I'd like to know what sort of experience anyone has had buying refurb devices from traditional chain stores or even from the manufacturer themselves.
