Hi all!TL;DR: Huge garage - not sure how to finish it.We just closed on our first house, a starter home, and every day we say "This house is the weirdest". I'm sure I'm not alone in this thought process when buying your first home, but really, it's the WEIRDEST.The actual house is 860 square feet. The garage...900 square feet with an extra room, half bath, and something that looks like a kitchen. Ceilings are 12 ft cathedral. Our goal is to sink money into the garage to finish it into a living/hosting space so that not only our resale value is higher, but so that we can enjoy it! The question is...finishing it.There is cinder block in the back half of the garage and a sort of MDF/Plywood in the front. We need to figure out how to insulate the dang thing and what to do with the floors (laminate, epoxy?). We gutted the entire main room (after this picture). The walls are sitting on top of cinder blocks that are horizontal, so the holes are facing up. They're also not flush to the wall.To add to the weirdness, we have 800 amp service to the house. There's a 220 volt outlet in the garage, so I'm pretty sure this was a mechanics shop back in the day.Again, weird house. lolhttps://i.redd.it/vgni6oq4p5511.jpg via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2tl3DoZ
