I've been lurking on this subreddit for a while and I really enjoy the tips you all have. I have a general question for the group that I have been thinking about for a few weeks.

I am a freelance web developer in my spare time, I work about 10 hours a week (outside of my 9 to 5) to bring in some extra money. I started freelancing because I wanted to pay to have my house cleaned once a month. I discovered that I can make more money in three hours than it would cost to pay someone to clean my house. I make extra money on the side, and part of that goes towards not doing a bunch of chores when I get off work. Obviously I enjoy freelancing more than housecleaning.

Now, I want my couches cleaned (my regular housekeeper doesn't do that). I called around a few places and the cheapest couch cleaning I can get it $176 for two full size couches.

My big question is this: when it it worth it to outsource something like upholstery cleaning? I could spend a few hours doing some hard work and cleaning my couches, or I could just build someone a website and pay someone else to clean my couches.

How do you make these decisions? When is it worth it and when it is not?
