It wasn’t a coincidence when Seattle proposed a tax on large company employees, which would’ve cost Amazon, the company halted construction of a new building and started this bidding process for a second headquarters, showing Seattle’s politicians that they can and will find other options. And Amazon won, that tax was repealed, and now Amazon has literally zero incentive to create HQ2 which btw they announced in September of last year, 10 months ago.
