I wear boots a lot for work, so I need good socks. The taper below my calves means anything that doesn't go over the calf is an ankle sock. Being a large person who's choices are already limited by size 14w feet, I'm having problems finding socks that work reliably. The strain of accommodating my calves either causes premature failure of the elastic that keeps socks up or the fabric that keeps socks together.
I'm currently looking down at my poor Darn Toughs that just went full breech over the meaty part of my calf this morning.
