I know there are a million threads already on here. I've read many of them, believe me. Here are the details.
Yard is about 1.5 acres. Mild hills. Fire ant mounds and sweetgum balls, no matter how much i try to avoid them.
Budget is about 1k to 3.5k.
I'm not a great mechanic. Can change oil, spark plugs, etc, but not a lot outide of that. Warranties thus have some appeal...
Checked out many options. Want durability, care less about deck size.
Here are the options Ive found.
Commercial grade bobcat procat, used, 52". 1000 hours. 3.5k. unknown history, but appears in good condition. Retails new close to 12k.
Toro mx 4250. New. 42". 3.3k dealer close by for repairs, if need be. 4 year warranty, which is nice.
Hustler raptor, 42". Fabricated deck. 3 year warranty (but no local dealer). 2.8k.
Other big box store item between 1-2k.
Part of me wants the old bobcat, but my lack of mechanical prowess and age of the machine make me weary.
