So I recently got my Class 1 license in Alberta and came back home in Ontario where I work long haul out of Toronto to Florida and Texas usually.
The lifestyle is fairly crappy although manageable for the short term 3-5 years. Nonetheless, the income is very good. I never thought I'd be making 2500 weekly after completing my undergraduate in HR management.
I come from an immigrant family in which all of my siblings are graduates from at least a undergrad level, in which a couple are MDs. However, none have any entrepreneurial background.
I am supposed to make a company and get a HST number and get paid from the company I do runs for like that. However, I never got around doing so as I had no clue what to do and immediately following my training I started doing runs and getting paid as a company worker with checks written out to me as opposed to my company as a contractor like almost all other truckers, and so I never got to collect HST.
Can I please get help/ advice on how to setup my company and how to get an HST number for the company and how to make a bank account for my company.
I'll be off for the next few days and I'd like to get this done, hopefully, before leaving.
