I feel so terrible and have no idea what to do for him. He has always had one or two credit cards and had an excellent credit report and score.
However, he recently went to apply for a personal loan, and got denied.
He was completely lost as to why this happened and they told him he had late payments and 3 collections.
All together it was about 30k worth spread upon 3 credit cards opened up.
They mentioned maybe some of his info was leaked from a data breach that happened with one of the agencies.
What does he do from here? If it matters he is in NY.
