I work for a megacorp as an electronics engineer and we are starting to see major shortages on components, particularly those meant for high temperature automotive or military use. Fifty to eighty week lead times are getting more common on very basic components (think resistors, capacitors, inductors, basic power supply chips, etc).
I have seen similar comments from other engineers on other forums, so it's not just my industry or the parts we order for my projects.
Does anyone have any insight into the electronics supply chain, what is currently happening, and how an investor might play it? Half my team is convinced there's a military buildup going on and I'm not sure they are wrong given the types of components that are zero stock with long leads.
