I’m just curious of other people’s experiences shopping from Lulu’s and getting duty on their purchases.
Just some information, I’m shipping to Canada.
I made my first purchase from them a month ago, all sale items, and it ended up being about $90 for 3 dresses. And then $50 or duties when it arrived. It stung, but I know they tax on the original price of the items, and I was happy enough with the quality of the items that I wasn’t too bothered.
I also assumed it was a once in a while thing, and I had just gotten unlucky this time around with customs, as I order internationally fairly often and could count on one hand the number of times I’ve paid duties.
I decided to give Lulu’s another go as I had a coupon from my previous purchase and ordered a set for $20 on sale. It just arrived today with over $25 of duties- more than I paid for the item itself!
I probably won’t be purchasing from Lulu’s again, as the duties are far too high to make the items worth it in my opinion, but I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered similar problems, or if they’ve ever ordered from Lulu’s without paying additional taxes etc.
