I use public transportation to get to work, but all my family and friends say I should just bite the bullet and get a car. I pay more in rent than my friends in order to live in the city near a metro station, but would I save money if I moved to a cheaper part of town and drove?
I was reading this article Why are fewer people using transit? A closer look that lists multiple reasons people are leaving mass transit, including:
The cost of owning a car – including licensing, parking fees, [gas] and other costs – are relatively low in the United States.
Is that true?
